  6. Thank you for your interest in WinGuard security software. Please read 
  7. the License Agreement and the end of this Readme file before installing 
  8. the software.

  11. DESCRIPTION
  12. ~~~~~~~~~~~
  13. WinGuard provides an easy low cost way of restricting specified programs
  14. or dialogs from being accessed. Users can specify sound alerts on these
  15. events, password time delays and much more. WinGuard includes 20
  16. customisable programs and dialogs built-in, such as File Manager,
  17. Explorer, Control Panel, Run, Find, My Computer, etc, and more can be
  18. included. Additional security is part of WinGuard that stops 
  19. termination during load and runtime. A WinGuard User's Guide is also 
  20. included in Help.

  23. INSTALLATION
  24. ~~~~~~~~~~~~
  25. If you downloaded WinGuard from the Internet, then before you start it's 
  26. important you make the WinGuard master disks if you plan on keeping it for 
  27. future installations. To do this, switch to the folder where WinGuard was 
  28. unzipped. You will see two folders, one called Disk1 and the other Disk2. 
  29. These folders can be copied onto two individual blank 1.44MB floppy disks. 
  30. The easiest way to do this is to use the Send To command in Windows Explorer. 
  31. Simply right click the Disk1 folder and click Send To 3╜ Floppy (A), or 
  32. whatever your disk drive may read. Do the same for Disk2.

  34. If you use an alternative backup device like a Jaz drive or something 
  35. similar, then obviously just copy both Disk1 and Disk2 to a suitable 
  36. folder there instead.

  38. To begin installation click Setup.exe in the Disk1 folder and follow 
  39. the on-screen instructions. After installation the installation folders
  40. on your Hard Drive; Disk1 and Disk2, can be safely deleted.

  43. REGISTRATION
  44. ~~~~~~~~~~~~
  45. WinGuard is fully functional software and can be used for a 30 day 
  46. evaluation period. After the evaluation period WinGuard will still 
  47. run, but the unregistered use of WinGuard after the evaluation period 
  48. is in violation of copyright laws, see the License Agreement.

  50. Upon registration, we will send you a license to use the software
  51. beyond the evaluation period (by law) and your own personal Registration 
  52. Code to eliminate this dialog and associated program tags.

  55. LICENSE AGREEMENT

  57. You should carefully read the following terms and conditions before 
  58. using this software. Your use of this software indicates your 
  59. acceptance of this license agreement and warranty.

  62. This agreement shall be governed by the laws of the United Kingdom.

  64. DISCLAMER OF WARRANTY:
  65. THIS SOFTWARE AND THE ACCOMPANYING FILES ARE SOLD "AS IS" AND WITHOUT 
  66. WARRANTIES AS TO PERFORMANCE OR MERCHANTABILITY OR ANY OTHER WARRANTIES 
  67. WHETHER EXPRESSED OR IMPLIED. Because of the various hardware and 
  68. software environments into which WinGuard may be put, NO WARRANTY OF 
  69. FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE IS OFFERED.

  71. Good data processing procedure dictates that any program be thoroughly 
  72. tested with non-critical data before relying on it. The user must 
  73. assume the entire risk of using the program. ANY LIABILITY OF THE 
  74. SELLER WILL BE LIMITED EXCLUSIVELY TO PRODUCT REPLACEMENT OR REFUND OF 
  75. PURCHASE PRICE.

  78. This is not free software. Subject to the terms below, you are hereby 
  79. licensed to use this software for evaluation purposes without charge 
  80. for a period of 30 days. If you use this software after the 30 day 
  81. evaluation period the appropriete registration fee is required.

  83. Unregistered use of WinGuard after the 30 day evaluation period is in 
  84. violation of UK and international copyright laws.

  86. You are specifically prohibited from charging, or requesting donations, 
  87. for any copies, however made; and from distributing the software 
  88. and/or documentation with other products (commercial or otherwise) 
  89. without prior written permission.

  91. You can freely distribute WinGuard provided that you do not give away 
  92. any Registration Codes you may have obtained from ReliSoftware. This is 
  93. because you would be allowing users to register illegal copies of 
  94. WinGuard under your name. You may not use this software across any 
  95. form of network without a WinGuard site license.
